Hunter & Central Coast Clubs
Laying the Foundation for a Prosperous Future


Forsythes Assurance & Risk has released results from their annual 2012 Hunter & Central Coast Clubs Index showing an overall improvement in financial performance in the region, with 75% of Clubs in the Hunter and Central Coast region making a profit, which is a significant improvement from 61% from the previous year.

“The results of the Index confirm that the local Club industry has improved its financial performance,” said Forsythes Assurance & Risk Senior Manager, Mr Martin Le Marchant.

Forsythes Training has appointed Julie Carroll as a director, effective from July 1 2012. Director Chad White welcomed Ms Carroll's appointment, saying since joining Forsythes Training in early 2007 in an Account Management role, Julie has worked tirelessly in our diversification strategy of becoming a quality provider of Vocational Training. 2012 UoN Nichols Scholarship

James Callender is the winner of the 2012 UoN Nichols Scholarship, established in memory of Brad Nichols. The scholarship is awarded to a 2nd or 3rd year accounting student who exhibits the same all-rounder talents as Brad (hard to come by!). James is in the 3rd year of his Accounting degree and is club captain of Newcastle Surf Life Saving Club. He is also a member of the Hunter Branch of Surf Life Saving and is actively involved in encouraging young members to join SLS. He is Vice President of the Newcastle Business and Commerce Association and was involved in developing a Facebook profile for the group which now has more than 600 friends.

Forsythes joins Trenthills and Ipac on the Central Coast

From 2 July 2012 Forsythes Financial Services will become an equal owner with Ipac Financial Services in the long standing Financial Planning firm Trenthills Financial Services. Forsythes and Ipac both have large and longestablished Financial Planning businesses in Newcastle and will bring this scale and increased resources to the Central Coast.
Principal of Forsythes, John O'Connor, confirmed that the Mann Street Gosford office will be maintained and that they plan to grow the business through continued high-quality, personal client service.

New NPA director from within the Forsythes ranks

Geoff Crews, Forsythes Recruitment Owner/Director has recently accepted the position of director (Australia/New Zealand) within NPA, the worldwide recruitment network. This is a volunteer position with some associated travel - two board meetings per year in Asia/Canada/Australia or the US. The international exposure and networks that this role should provide are also timely in terms of Recruitment’s growing appetite for international candidates.

Brad Nichols Scholarship

Brad was a partner at Forsythes, specialising in taxation, when he tragically died at age 33. This scholarship was established in 2009 to honour the significant contribution that Brad Nichols made to the Newcastle community through his involvement in business, sporting and community organisations.
